I start my Yawn series with the auspicious reservation ‘issue’, that’s been so hyped that it’s got international coverage as well.
Every one writes, everyone protests, everyone voices opninions.
Good.
But, make me yawn. It’s the same old recycled stuff they write, the protests haven’t achieved great things apart form media mileage, and the people’s [useless] support.
Accept the system and fight it, instead of raising these issues, pointlessly.
And, am happy now, that the government has come forthright and said it WILL implement it!
I hope all those protestors realise the futility of their struggle, and understand it’s going to be implemented only June next year, and the government is open to negotiations on the plight of students other than OBC’s.
As for me, I only hope they and the media, don’t make me yawn anymore. I know, because I may not be affected by it, and even if in future it affects me, I’d take a cautious step, to make sure my credentials are high, and that can fetch me my seat/position over the SC/ST. Am fortunate, thats been the case with me always.
So I say, Fight the system when you’re in it, rather than agitating before it has even been implemented. I really think this reservation policy, will be a good move!!! Think of it, it’s going to be a competitive world, and your abilities are being gambled, and you have to learn to survive, to win!
[ok, i know i crapped towards the end.]

hahahaha… you don’t know how much I agree. my non involvement in this issue almost borders on apathy. I am actually put off by hot headed people shouting slogans without giving much thought and consideration
What the protesters need is some patience; what they want is media attention and not justice; what they have already is ignorance (of the real issues at hand)

If you are in the system and fight it, you will fight only to survive it. There is no glory in it..
Even though people (at the convenience of internet) have written innumerous posts, they all realize Arjun Singh wont read blogs.
Only that the blog world might slowly gather support and get ready for a protest on Mandal III, that may “Katrina” the OC from the private sector. Protests suck big time, and thats not the right way.. but better than being Numb..
