This picture, shows people and the bugle band outside a church behind my house.
Situation: The bugle’s playing that “mayilirage” song from the tamil movie “Anbae Aruyire”.
I seriously couldn’t decipher the reason behind these people playing THAT song, at the beginning of a procession [Some church fest]!!!
Why I posted this here: Try and rant about how religion is in many situations a namesake… [Dunno why just can't go beyond that point! I hope what I intended to convey came across.]
Well, this incident just sparked that thought, and I VERY well know how there are hundreds of instances, always,as such; peaking during festivals!
Am not referring to any particular religion, but people sometimes seem so lost between religion, faith, and “acquired practices” as this.
This was immediate and I could capture it. Probably some point in life, will write an elaborate post on this!
Guess, it’s the age when:
“Krishna Krishna, Hayyo Krishna, Yennoda Favourite-u God-u Ni”
“ ONna, Renda! Girlfriends-u thaan…”
Translated:
‘Krishna Krishna, Your my Favourtite God’
‘One or two! so many girlfriends!’
[Song from the movie DumDumDum] will be playing in Temples during Krishna Jayanthi!
I so very love this!!! I prefer my three times a day praying session, quietly at home!
Forgot to mention their antics: They kinda saw me taking pics, perhaps that’s why they immediately stopped that Mayilirage song, and switched to “KaLlanae,Deyveega…” song[Christian Devotional]. Was damn funny. It was like in a moment of realisation it dawned on them that they were playing for the festivities of a church and not a wedding reception.
But these guys are exceptions that way. I’ve still seen those crowds, that have BLARING film music playing during festivals et al.
Ponder: Did “God” ask for any of this? Whatever is religion! I prefer faith that’s contained. Though that’s unachievable.
Next time I hear such, I plan to go and stop them, or atleast question them!
[The pic isn't clear, because I had to zoom in, and click, and quality is affected when I do that.]

its little unfortunate, but it happens i think almost everywhere..
but then u r right, not every religious practice would be for channelising our souls towards God..and yet we dont question many customs..
